Helping Organisations and Individuals in the City of Lichfield
Aims & Purposes
Swinfen Broun Charitable Trust is a Charity dedicated to assisting organisations and individuals within Lichfield City.
The Trust applies the Charity funds to help organisations and individuals within the boundaries of the City of Lichfield who qualify for help under the terms of the Trust Deed.
For example, it assists with grants for the provision or maintenance of public halls, meeting places, playing fields, sports facilities, public gardens and public open spaces.
Foundation
The Swinfen Broun Charitable Trust was established by Trust Deed dated 6 November 1973 and registered with the Charity Commissioners on 28 January 1974 and later incorporated under Section 50 of the Charities Act 1993.
The assets of the Trust derive from the estate of the late Colonel Swinfen Broun, who died in 1948.
The Trust does not actively fundraise and seeks to continue the philanthropic work desired by the donor through the careful stewardship of its existing resources.
